DESCRIPTION:Coolant temperature/engine oil temperature plausibility fault. MONITORED PARAMETER:Coolant outlet and oil temperature sensors. TYPICAL ENABLING CONDITIONS:1. Oil temperature greater than 65°C.2. Engine running for greater than 1200 seconds. MONITOR SEQUENCE:None EXECUTION FREQUENCY:Always enabled TYPICAL DURATION:30 DASH LAMPS:MIL VERIFICATION:1. Warm up engine such that oil temperature is greater than 65°C.2. Run for 1200 seconds. NOTE: If other cooling system faults or issues present, fix those first. PROBABLE CAUSES:1. Low engine oil level.2. Engine coolant thermostat failure.3. Coolant outlet sensor and/or oil temperature sensor harness.4. Coolant outlet sensor and/or oil temperature sensor.

DESCRIPTION:Coolant outlet temperature not plausible. MONITORED PARAMETER:Coolant inlet and coolant outlet temperature sensors. TYPICAL ENABLING CONDITIONS:1. Engine speed 500-2500 rpm.2. Coolant temperature is greater than 65C.3. Battery voltage is 11 vDC.4. Run engine less than 60s. MONITOR SEQUENCE:None EXECUTION FREQUENCY:Always enabled TYPICAL DURATION:30 DASH LAMPS:MIL VERIFICATION:Start engine, warm it up so that the coolant temperature is greater than 65C. Insure battery voltage is 11 vDC and engine has been running for at least 1 minute then bring engine to idle speed, being certain that it is greater than 500 RPM. NOTE: If any other cooling system issues, repair those first....

DESCRIPTION:This fault code sets when the Motor Control Module (MCM) detects a short to ground on the engine coolant temperature sensor circuit. MONITORED PARAMETER:Engine coolant outlet temperature sensor. TYPICAL ENABLING CONDITIONS:Always enabled MONITOR SEQUENCE:None EXECUTION FREQUENCY:Always enabled TYPICAL DURATION:2 seconds DASH LAMPS:1. MIL2. CEL VERIFICATION:Engine Idle: One minute. NOTE: Repair the short to ground between pin 2 of the engine coolant sensor harness connector and pin 110 of the MCM (Engine ECM) 120-pin connector.

NOTE: Please see the step by step troubleshooting procedures for this specific code. NOTE: If any engine computer modules have been programmed recently, clear the codes if they are not active. NOTE: Turn key off, disconnect batteries for 5 minutes. Reconnect. If codes still active, refer to code 625-9.
