Detroit DD13 EPA10 (2010-13) Fault Code: SPN 974 FMI 4 (CPC) Remote Accelerator Pedal Circuit Failed Low
Posted by PerDiezel Solutions on
DESCRIPTION:This fault may occur if remote accelerator pedal is programmed on and remote pedal circuit is shorted to ground while pin 8 of the common powertrain controller (CPC) connector #2 is grounded. MONITORED PARAMETER:Remote throttle sensor. TYPICAL ENABLING CONDITIONS:Always enabled MONITOR SEQUENCE:None EXECUTION FREQUENCY:Always enabled TYPICAL DURATION:Two seconds DASH LAMPS:CEL ENGINE REACTION:None VERIFICATION:1. Key on.2. Engine on with remote pedal activated. NOTE: If the unit doesn’t have a remote throttle pedal, it is programmed incorrectly. NOTE: If it does have one, the problem is either the remote throttle switch or the wiring between the remote throttle pedal and the ECM.
Detroit DD13 EPA10 (2010-13) Fault Code: SPN 98 FMI 0 (CPC) Oil Level High
Posted by PerDiezel Solutions on
DESCRIPTION:This code is not configured for NAFTA applications. If this code is Active, CPC configuration is incorrect. MONITORED PARAMETER:Engine oil level signal from MCM. TYPICAL ENABLING CONDITIONS:Not Enabled MONITOR SEQUENCE:None EXECUTION FREQUENCY:None TYPICAL DURATION:Two Seconds DASH LAMPS:CEL ENGINE REACTION:None VERIFICATION:Key ON, engine OFF. NOTE: If 100-1 and 100-3 are both active, work on repairing 100-3 first. NOTE: If 100-1 and 100-4 are both active, work on repairing 100-4 first. PROBABLE CAUSES:1. High oil level, check for fuel or coolant entering systems.2. Oil level sensor connector/harness.3. Oil level sensor.4. Oil pressure fluctuating.

VERIFICATION:Key ON, engine OFF. NOTE: If 100-1 and 100-3 are both active, work on repairing 100-3 first. NOTE: If 100-1 and 100-4 are both active, work on repairing 100-4 first. PROBABLE CAUSES:1. Low oil level, check system for leaks.2. Oil level sensor connector/harness.3. Oil level sensor.4. Oil level pressure fluctuating.
Detroit DD13 EPA10 (2010-13) Fault Code: SPN 986 FMI 13 (CPC) CPC has Received A J1939 CM1 Message
Posted by PerDiezel Solutions on
NOTICE: This fault does not indicate a common powertrain controller (CPC) issues, do not replace the CPC. NOTE: J1939 CM1 SPN 986 signal source #1 or #2 is missing. NOTE: This fault indicates that the CPC has received a J1939 CM1 message; however the “SPN 986 requested fan percent speed” data signal is not available. NOTE: If codes 168-0, 168-14, or 168-18 active fix those first. NOTE: If ECM has been programmed recently, check programming to ensure it is correct. NOTE: This code is coming from another computer on the vehicle (ABS, Transmission, etc…).
