The aftertreatment control module (ACM) supplies a pulsed ground signal to activate the ignition coil. The ignition coil is connected to the ignition electrodes by two ignition wires. When activated it supplies 40,000 to 45,000 volts to the ignition electrodes creating an arc that ignites the atomized fuel and air mixture in the aftertreatment diesel particulate filter (DPF) combustion chamber of the aftertreatment DPF. The aftertreatment diesel particulate filter (DPF) atomization air pressure sensor is used to monitor the pressure of the compressed air supply to the aftertreatment DPF atomization module during active diagnostics and measures the combined atomization fuel and air pressure during burner operation. The sensor consists of a pressure sensitive diaphragm/amplifier sensor. Air pressure causes the sensors diaphragm to deflect and produce an electrical signal proportional to the pressure. The diaphragm deflection signal is amplified in the sensor.
