NOTE: Please see the step by step troubleshooting procedures for this specific code. NOTE: If the engine has been programmed recently, ensure the parameters for the transmission are correct. PROBABLE CAUSES:1. ITransmission Speed Sensor connector/harness all the way to the ECM.2. Transmission speed sensor failure.
Detroit DD16 GHG14 (2014-16) Fault Code: SPN 3871 FMI 3 (CPC) Transmission Speed Sensor 4 04 or 3 13 Circuit Failed High

Detroit DD16 GHG14 (2014-16) Fault Code: SPN 3872 FMI 3 (CPC) Analog Output 01 – Failed High on Pin 5 Circuit of the Common Powertrain Controller #3 Connector
Posted by PerDiezel Solutions on
NOTE: The common powertrain controller (CPC) digital outputs have the same SPN as some motor control module (MCM) faults. NOTE: If ECM has been programmed recentely, check programming to ensure it is correct. NOTE: Otherwise, fix the open circuit on pin 5 of the CPC4 #3 connector.
