This fault code sets when the engine oil temperature rises too slowly.

MONITORED PARAMETER:
Oil temperature

TYPICAL ENABLING CONDITIONS:
Coolant outlet and oil temperature sensor.

MONITOR SEQUENCE:
None

EXECUTION FREQUENCY:
Continuous when enabling conditions met.

TYPICAL DURATION:
Two seconds

DASH LAMPS:
MIL

ENGINE REACTION:
None

VERIFICATION:
Run the engine at 1200 rpm until coolant temperature reaches (49°C) 120°F.

PROBABLE CAUSES:
1. Low engine oil level.
2. Engine oil temperature sensor.
3. Engine oil temperature sensor harness/connector.
