Circuit DescriptionThe accelerator position sensor is a Hall effect sensor attached to the accelerator pedal. The accelerator position sensor varies the signal voltage to the engine control module (ECM) as the accelerator pedal is depressed and released. Low signal voltage is received by the ECM when the accelerator pedal is at 0 percent. A high signal voltage is received by the ECM when the accelerator pedal is at 100 percent. The accelerator pedal position circuit contains an accelerator pedal position 5 volt supply, accelerator pedal position return, and accelerator pedal position signal. The accelerator pedal contains two position sensors. These...

Circuit DescriptionThe engine control module (ECM) provides a 5 volt supply to the intake manifold pressure sensor on the sensor supply circuit. The ECM also provides a ground on the sensor return circuit. The intake manifold pressure sensor provides a signal to the ECM on the intake manifold pressure sensor signal circuit. This sensor signal voltage changes based on the pressure in the intake manifold. Component LocationThe intake manifold 1 pressure/temperature sensor is located in the air intake horn. Conditions for Running the DiagnosticsThis diagnostic runs continuously when the engine is running. Conditions for Setting the Fault CodesThe Engine Control...
