Cummins ISB CM850 (2003-06) Fault Code: 2386 PID: SPN: 2975 FMI: 6 Turbocharger actuator motor circuit – current is above normal. Excessive current detected at the turbocharger actuator motor circuit.
The ECM monitors the current draw of this circuit. If the ECM detects excessive current for a calibrated period of time, it records this fault.
Possible causes:
1)Turbocharger actuator motor signal (+ or -) leads shorted together in the engine harness, turbocharger actuator motor, or ECM
2)Low turbocharger actuator motor internal resistance.
Possible repairs:
1)Replace the turbocharger actuator assembly.
2)Repair or replace the engine harness.
3)Replace the turbocharger actuator motor assembly.
4)Replace the turbocharger.
