Circuit Description
This circuit is internal to the fuel pump and detects fuel solenoid movement.
Component Location
The fuel pump is located on the backside of the gear housing on the intake side of the engine.
Shop Talk
No current inflection recognized within the solenoid closing time. This fault is typically set when a fuel pump beginning of injection point error is recognized at engine speeds greater than 700 rpm and commanded fueling greater than 20 mm3 [0.787 in3] for 2 seconds at battery voltage (greater than 9-VDC). The fault code can be triggered by electrical noise or voltage feedback on ground loop. Jump-starting a vehicle with 24-VDC can cause this fault code to be set.
