CAT 3406E (Prefix 5DS or 1LW) Fault Code: 01 PID: 71 SPN: FMI: 0 Idle Shutdown Override

The Engine Control Module (ECM) detects one of the following conditions:

•The “Allow Idle Shutdown Override” parameter is programmed to “Yes” and the status of the brake switch or the clutch switch changes.
•The “Allow Idle Shutdown Override” parameter is programmed to “J1587 Outside Temp Based” or “Outside Temperature Based”. The outside temperature is above the maximum programmed temperature or the outside temperature is below the minimum programmed temperature.
•The idle shutdown timer is within the final 90 seconds.
•The “Idle Shutdown Time” parameter is programmed to at least three minutes.

Probable Causes:

1) It code 84-08 is active, Idle Shutdown Timer will not activate
2) Reprogram parameter in ECM
3) Brake pedal switch/harness
4) Clutch pedal switch/harness
5) Vehicle speed sensor/harness
6) PTO switch sensor/harness
