The Engine Control Module (ECM) detects the following condition:
•The parameter “Powertrain Data Link” must be programmed to J1939.
•The ECM is unsuccessful in receiving a specific message from a device or
•The device is broadcasting a fault code or
•The device is broadcasting a code that is not supported.
Probable Causes:
1) ECM Connection/Harness
2) An ECM on the vehicle has failed or is sending improper data (Can be for anything – Cab, ABS, etc…)
