The Engine Control Module (ECM) detects the following conditions:
•The engine oil pressure is below the trip line in Illustration 1 for more than eight seconds.
•The engine has been running for at least 18 seconds.
The ECM has been powered for at least three seconds.
Possible Causes:
1) Low oil in engine
2) Sensor installed improperly
3) If related codes for barometic pressure or boost pressure, fix those first
4) Pressure sensor wiring – Make sure you have 5V to the sensor
5) Manually check oil pressure and verify sensor is correct. If they are and still low oil pressure, you have a mechanical problem
